    Advocacy & Impact Fund

The Free Sisterhood Advocacy & Impact Fund (TFSAIF)

Turning lived experience into meaningful change for women, children, and the systems that serve them.

The Free Sisterhood operates through two complementary branches: The Free Sisterhood private support community and The Free Sisterhood Advocacy & Impact Fund (TFSAIF), our initiative dedicated to creating meaningful change for women and children affected by narcissistic abuse, borderline abuse, coercive control, and high-conflict relationships.

TFSAIF is a new initiative, in partnership with People in Partnership, a South Carolina fiscal sponsor. Our vision is ambitious because the need is significant. We believe healing is only the beginning. The experiences that change us can also inspire us to improve the lives of others.

    Our Areas of Focus

Pre- & During-Divorce Education, Abuse-Preventative Divorce Agreements, and Court Support Initiatives
Beginning in South Carolina, with a model designed for replication across other states.

➽ Developing model divorce agreements designed to reduce opportunities for post-separation abuse, coercive control, unnecessary conflict, and ongoing litigation.

➽ Creating a model for & providing pre- and during-divorce education through workshops, webinars, and expert panel discussions that help individuals understand the legal process, critical decision points, and trusted, trauma-informed resources.

➽ Creating court preparation resources that help individuals understand courtroom procedures, prepare testimony, communicate effectively, and navigate the legal process with greater confidence.

➽ Exploring courtroom companion programs that provide trained emotional support before and during hearings and trials, where permitted by law and local court rules.

    Advocacy & Public Policy
Advocating for thoughtful, evidence-informed legislation and public policy that better protects women and children, including support for coercive control legislation such as

➽ Mica's Law in SC & mandatory pre-divorce separation periods (currently one year).

➽ Tracking & supporting coercive control legislation on a national & global scale

Community Partnerships & Funding Other Meaningful Organizations
Fundraising for, supporting, and amplifying organizations whose work aligns with our mission. We believe meaningful change happens faster when exceptional organizations work together. Rather than duplicating existing efforts, we seek to strengthen organizations already making an extraordinary difference through funding, collaboration, and increased public awareness.

➽ We currently support Charleston Legal Access. They provide empathetic, quality, sliding-scale legal resources and representation across SC.

    Research & Innovation
Supporting research partnerships, pilot programs, and innovative initiatives that improve public awareness, inform legislation, strengthen professional practice, and advance evidence-based approaches to healing and family court reform.

➽ Announcing a new partnership soon (in process).

    Scholarships & Access
Expanding access to The Free Sisterhood and other educational and supportive programs so that financial circumstances are never a barrier to receiving help.

➽ The Free Sisterhood partners with People in Partnership in SC to fundraise for members scholarships without creating a tax burden on our donors.

➽ We are exploring and vetting several additional support programs for which we will provide scholarships for our members.

    Youth/Early Adult Education & Prevention
Promoting age-appropriate education that helps young people recognize unhealthy relationship patterns, build healthy boundaries, and develop the skills needed for safe, respectful relationships.

➽ We are exploring partnerships with industry experts on research and educative initiatives to develop curriculum, materials, and educational opportunities.

➽ Establishing outlets for conversations that matter.
